“Taking part in the Active Wellbeing European Challenge has been so fun and motivating. Such a fun way to encourage everyone to be active whilst virtually walking through Europe!”
It’s been great fun taking part in the Active Wellbeing European Challenge, the greatest joy is seeing my colleagues all get involved, increase their steps and have some healthy competition – great team and morale booster.
Active Wellbeing Europe for me has been about bringing together a diverse group of people within our business and working towards a shared goal, to get out and about more and generally promote healthy sporting activity. This year one of our team completed Ironman Wales during the challenge, so a few of us are using the challenge to try and match his amazing step count for that one day, but spread out over the whole event. It’s really encouraged some friendly rivalry and quite a lot of awe.
I was delighted to find out I had won the £100 Decathlon Voucher. I joined the Nudge to Budge Active Wellbeing 2025 Challenge after being nudged by my colleague to join our local team. The challenge fitted perfectly around time with visiting family and motivated me to try to get my 10k steps in on a daily basis! Getting out into the great outdoors with the family on a more regular basis was, and continues to be, just the tonic for our mental and physical health. We borrowed our friend’s dog (Badger) for a walk in Lyme Park 😊
The reason I love these challenges so much is they really work, making me think to increase my steps daily, whether it’s to walk the kids to school, or walk to the shops instead of driving. Even just a simple 20-minute walk at lunchtime instead of sitting and eating my lunch helps the body keep active and the mind healthy. Keeping track of my steps and setting myself goals to keep moving has really helped and being motivated with the challenge to see how me and my teammates do has been really motivating to keep going. I can’t wait to treat myself to some new running clothes now! Here is a picture of me at my local parkrun which I love doing when I can on a Saturday morning, there is no better way to start the weekend than a free friendly 5k in your local park.
After completing a previous Active Wellbeing challenge in February 2025 my team and I became very competitive with the other local teams. We didn’t win although half the team are marathon runners! This time we doubled our steps. I was fortunate to be in Budapest for the last 2 days of the challenge and completed a walking tour which really boosted my personal step count. This time we beat our local teams. This voucher makes the experience even sweeter! Lol
