Active Wellbeing Autumn – Workplace Funding Success Stories

Workplace Funding
Hear from some of your civil service and public sector colleagues who benefited from CSSC’s workplace funding during the Active Wellbeing Autumn campaign.
Home Office – Liverpool Visa Hub | Therapy Pets
We had Fergus and his handler Cathy visit us twice in our Visits Hub, this was so that the teams who were working from home the first visit, were able to meet him the following time. Some members of the hub even changed their working from home days to meet him!
Staff in our Hub absolutely LOVED his visit. Members of the LVH commented how amazing this was, that it was the best day in work EVER! One member of the hub was having a bad day and just as they were leaving for some fresh air, Fergus walked in the building, and they spent a few minutes with him and felt so much better after just a short time.
People kept asking if they could bring in their own pets to the office and how amazing this was that we were able to provide our staff with this opportunity.
Fergus walked around the whole office during both his visits and then we set up in a meeting room towards the end, for people to pop in and spend some more one on one time with him. He could only be in the office for around 90 minutes, as he gets quite tired from the attention. I am sure you can imagine how much attention he was getting! Lesley
MOD Abbey Wood (South) – Bristol/Padel Ball
“We have now had our first sessions of padel ball, with some more planned. The consensus so far is everyone has loved it. Has been great to offer the opportunity to try a new sport and get active whilst being able to socialise. Thank you so much to CSSC and Active Wellbeing”. Jack
“Great opportunity to experience the growing sport of padel with fellow colleagues. Nice facilities and the location being so near to the office is ideal.” – Adam
“I had a great time at Padel Ball, having never played Padel Ball before, I was apprehensive going into it as there were colleagues with all different levels of experience and ability attending. I ended up having a great time and really enjoyed the opportunity to try something new. I could also see a real improvement when I went for my second session which was very satisfying. A nice way to get some headspace and relax after a day of work, I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who has the chance to give it a go. I look forward to playing some more in the future!” – Maddie
Met Office, Exeter | Intro to Yoga
My team participated in an intro to yoga session that I organised via a colleague who is an instructor.
Also attached is my view whilst joining in from home, my dog was not sure what to make of it but was keen to share my yoga mat! Abigail
“That was a revelation and I ache less!”
“I echo all that. Many, many thanks …. for running it and getting us all into some surprising positions”
“Really great, thank you very much for running and organising”.
“Brilliant very enjoyable thank you so much”.
