Hear from our AW25 May prize winners

Sarah-Jane - £100 Decathlon voucher winner

I suffered from a back injury last year. The Active Wellbeing challenge really helped spur me on to increase my activity. I was part of a brilliant team of supportive colleagues and the challenge really brought us together. We had a lot of fun and are continuing as a team for other Active Wellbeing Challenges. For me, the success of increasing my activity continues and I’m now climbing hills for the first time in my life.

Richard - Shokz headphones winner

That’s great news.  Another positive for trying to be healthy!

(Richard won an AW sign up incentivisation prize for signing up during the Capital challenge)

Matthew Bailey - £100 John Lewis voucher winner

Here is me on Pen y Ghent enjoying the outdoors during the Active Wellbeing challenge, more so for now having gratefully received a John Lewis voucher.

Sarah - £100 Decathlon voucher winner

I was delighted to find out I had won the £100 Decathlon Voucher.  I joined the Nudge to Budge Active Wellbeing 2025 Challenge after being nudged by my colleague to join our local team. The challenge fitted perfectly around time with visiting family and motivated me to try to get my 10k steps in on a daily basis!  Getting out into the great outdoors with the family on a more regular basis was, and continues to be, just the tonic for our mental and physical health. We borrowed our friend’s dog (Badger) for a walk in Lyme Park 😊

Mark - £100 John Lewis voucher winner

Having previously been involved in Active Wellbeing through Defra,  I was happy to dive into the May ‘Around the UK’ Challenge, and add to my team’s total.  As ever, it spurred me on to do that little bit extra to contribute to the team virtually circumnavigating the UK – every single step matters. As ever, this was a fun initiative, which I’d encourage everyone to have a go of. Great job again by every one of my teammates and all other teams taking part, lots of whom clocked up some amazing distances!

Caroline - £100 John Lewis voucher winner

After completing a previous Active Wellbeing challenge in February 2025 my team and I became very competitive with the other local teams.  We didn’t win although half the team are marathon runners!  This time we doubled our steps.  I was fortunate to be in Budapest for the last 2 days of the challenge and completed a walking tour which really boosted my personal step count.  This time we beat our local teams.  This voucher makes the experience even sweeter! Lol

Helen - Shokz headphones winner

I never realised how competitive I was about getting my steps in until the Active Wellbeing challenge, it really does give you that extra push to get out and do that little bit extra to finish off the day. The challenge has also enabled me to get connected with others in the organisation who I wouldn’t usually speak with. It’s a winning situation, whether it be earphones or human connections.

Ian - £100 Decathlon voucher winner

I really enjoyed the around the UK challenge along with my team, and chuffed to win the prize. I have been slowly returning from a running injury and the challenge gave me the motivation to get out and get the steps in. I am looking forward to the next challenge.

Beck - £100 John Lewis voucher winner

It was great to take part in the Around-the-UK challenge, and even more so to have won this prize! I’ve taken part in a couple of these challenges now. They motivate me to keep up the consistency of activity and have helped me start and maintain a habit of walking in the morning, which I really enjoy. Thanks!

Catrin - Garmin watch winner

I’m thrilled to have won a Garmin watch with CSSC! Perfect timing (excuse the pun) with my training for an upcoming 10K race! Taking part in the May Around-the-UK challenge was a great motivator to stay active and connected with colleagues across the country – it’s been a brilliant experience from start to finish.
