Join in the fun and make a pledge to improve your wellbeing

As Chairman of CSSC Sports and Leisure it gives me tremendous pleasure in welcoming you to this year’s Active Wellbeing Week.

From 1-5 July, in partnership with the Civil Service Employee Policy (CSEP), CSSC will be hosting a national week long initiative to help the Civil Service deliver one of its strategic aims of improving the physical and mental wellbeing of its workforce.

Building on last year’s success, CSSC will be helping public sector employees lead a healthier, more active lifestyle, with the aid of hundreds of local champions and a dedicated website full of useful guides on improving your wellbeing.

We all appreciate the benefits of exercise, but for many of us we need a guiding hand to point us in the right direction. With this in mind CSSC have brought back their celebrated ‘Make a Pledge’ campaign.

By simply pledging to increase your activity, which can be as simple as a lunchtime walk or afternoon stretch, not only could you take the first step to a healthier you, but you could also be in with a chance of winning some fantastic prizes.

New for this year was the funding for workplace activities. From yoga to table tennis, CSSC has helped to prepare, organise and fund events and lessons for around 150 offices.

I would encourage as many of you as possible to help raise awareness of Active Wellbeing Week by joining me in making a pledge and to learn more about what CSSC can do for you and your families.
